Pantone’s extreme color precision is pointless in reality because:
1. Perception varies ( lighting, materials, eyesight ).
2. Exact matches are impossible ( inks, screens, prints differ ).
3. No one notices or cares ( brands thrive without it ).
4. It’s a manufactured need —monetizing a natural phenomenon.
Reject Pantone. Use free, open alternatives (HEX, CMYK, RAL) and ignore the hype. Their "necessity" is a scam.
