Fossodile

an imaginary creaturography

This is the Fossodile. It existed <redacted> years ago and is thought by some to have been sentient. The few existing fossils have been in bad condition and were immediately hidden by government decree, but images of one very intact fossil escaped, and there’s an urban legend of a death that happened because of it.

There’s a cult of underground biologists centered on this creature ( call themselves Fossophiles ) and they’ve done remarkable conjectures based on those images. The depiction here is roundly considered the most reasonable interpretation of an alive Fossodile ( sex organs, incl. tamp bladder and <redacted>, omitted ).

It appears to have phenotypical relationships to almost every category of lizard, reptile, and amphibian, but since those diverged in known ways, appears to be Chimera.
